Wolf Walk Draws 125 Protesters

On Saturday, Oct. 12 the 2nd annual Wolf Walk was held in Duluth. Organized by the Northwoods Wolf Alliance and Idle No More, the event was organized to oppose the Minnesota and Wisconsin wolf hunts.

The event began with a rally at the Duluth Civic Center, followed by a march to Canal Park where a circle dance was held on the shores of Lake Superior.  About 125 people participated in the event, the majority of them Anishinabe, for whome the wolf is a sacred totem.

The Wisconsin wolf hunt begins on Oct. 15 and the MN hunt begins on Nov. 9.  Stay tuned to the Northern Worker's Activist Calendar for announcements on more protests to save the wolf.
